UCON — A four-wheeler trailer caught fire on County Line Road in Bonneville County on Saturday.

The accident occurred just after 10 a.m.

Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Bryan Lovell said the fire was caused by a chain dragging behind a pickup truck that was pulling the trailer.

Dennis Youngerman, the owner of the vehicles tells EastIdahoNews.com, that his trailer popped off the hitch.

“The safety chains caught it, but it dragged causing massive sparks,” Youngerman said. “The gas can on the trailer spilt and it ignited the gas. There was nothing I could do.”

Idaho State Police, Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and the Idaho Falls Fire Department responded to the accident.

No one was injured in the accident.

The truck, trailer and ATVs on the trailer were a complete loss.

CORRECTION: A previous version of this article stated the truck was not injured. That was not the case. All vehicles involved in the accident were a complete loss. EastIdahoNews.com apologizes for the error.
