Community Food Basket launches virtual supermarket for donations

  Published at

IDAHO FALLS — The Community Food Basket – Idaho Falls is excited to announce a new way for the community to donate canned food items through an online virtual supermarket.

The virtual Supermarket is a new and revolutionary way to give to the Community Food Basket – Idaho Falls through a fun and interactive online grocery store environment.

It’s as easy as choosing an avatar, shopping through a pantry, and adding essential items like tuna, canned soup and fruit to your cart! No shopping, no lines, simply click on the food items you wish to donate, check out when your cart is full, and immediately receive a receipt for your donation.

“Imagine a Grandparent sitting down with their Grandchildren in front of the computer, the grandchildren add several food items to their Virtual Supermarket grocery cart. With one simple click they have donated food to help others. It’s a simple and wonderful way to help feed food insecure families in our community, and to teach our children and grandchildren about caring and sharing,” said Bud Langerak, the Executive Director of the Community Food Basket – Idaho Falls.
