UPDATE 2:30 p.m.

Crews have been able to get the leak at Yellowstone and Maple under control, according to city of Pocatello spokesman Logan McDougall.

While workers are performing repairs, one northbound lane of Yellowstone Avenue will be closed from Oak Street to Walnut Street and Maple Street will be closed from Yellowstone Avenue to Pershing Avenue. Officials expect to reopen the closed lane by 3:15 p.m.

McDougall says Water service is also interrupted on Maple Street between Yellowstone Avenue and Pershing Avenue.

Four businesses have been impacted by the break. The 8 inch water main was installed in 1966, according to Pocatello Water Department Superintendent Justin Armstrong.

Updates are being posted on the Pocatello City Hall Facebook page.
