Ditch the fright and embrace the fun at the Treehouse Village Fall Festival

REXBURG– During this time of year, folks typically look forward to haunted attractions and various types of spooks. But a new fall fest in Rexburg is steering away from the frightening and embracing the family fun.

The Treehouse Nursery and Landscape Co. owners are hosting their second annual Fall Festival. Attractions and events take place in the Treehouse Village near the nursery.

“At a time when everybody is focusing on Halloween, we’re focusing on the family and creating an environment where family’s can have fun and gather together,” owner Melanie Clements said.

The Treehouse Village is smaller representation of an actual village. Spots like a sheriff’s office, a food barn and a corn box filled with kernels for kids to play in make up the small town. There’s also a fairy tale forest where childhood fables are recreated.

“My family looked forward to the festival this year because it’s a fun family oriented place. The owners are so creative and like adding new things,” visitor Brittni Mecham said. “Saying my kids love the corn box is an understatement. Even my one-year-old goes running when she sees it.”

Clements said a popular attraction is the hay ride and the pumpkin cannon. Guests can watch large sized pumpkins catapult through the air and smash into old cars sitting at end of a field.

The Fall Festival began last Monday and will have talent nights, lip sync battles, a chili cook off and other activities until the end of October.

“We’ve come up with the different events and attractions… to make it a celebration of fall, this beautiful time of year, and spending time together as a family,” Clements said.

Participants can still sign up to be apart of fall events. Text or call 208-351-4590, or email TreeHouseFallFest@gmail.com.
