I.F. man arrested for trying to sell drugs to undercover officer on Facebook

IDAHO FALLS – Local authorities arrested 47‐year‐old Charles L. Schmidt on various drug offenses after he attempted to sell drugs to an officer late Monday night.
The Idaho Falls man was booked into the Bonneville County Jail for possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, destruction of evidence, possession of drug paraphernalia and a Bonneville County warrant.
According to Idaho Falls Police reports, Schmidt agreed to sell methamphetamine to an undercover officer via Facebook. Officers made contact with Schmidt in the 900 block of Hoopes Avenue around 10 p.m.
He was found in possession of methamphetamine, methylphenidate hydrochloride and drug paraphernalia.
While being booked into the jail, officers observed Schmidt attempting to delete messages between he and the undercover officer on his phone.
