Ririe schools cancelled due to technology issue

  Published at  | Updated at

UPDATE (9:45 a.m.):
RIRIE –The superintendent of the Ririe School District says school was cancelled because the district is experiencing technology issues.

Chad Williams says hardware problems are preventing the use of the internet, phone lines and intercom system.

“We don’t have internet access, and our phones are connected to our internet access — thus, we can’t communicate,” Williams said.

Williams said he felt not being able to communicate with students through the intercom or to others through phone calls would put students at risk.

He said the issues should be resolved within a few hours.

“We anticipate being to be up and going again by this afternoon,” Williams said.

School will resume Monday as scheduled. School is out Friday due to teacher in-service meetings.
