IDAHO FALLS — One eastbound lane on Sunnyside is closed after a dump truck apparently rear-ended a car Wednesday around 2:15 p.m. near the Woodruff intersection.

The female driver of the car, a Chevrolet Monte Carlo, was taken by ambulance to the hospital, as well as a male passenger.

The driver of the dump truck was uninjured.

The driver of the dump truck tells EastIdahoNews.com that while traveling in the right lane going East on Sunnyside, the black Monte Carlo passed him in the left lane and then abruptly turned in front him to enter the KJ’s gas station.

The dump truck driver says the Monte Carlo quickly stopped to pull into the gas station just off Woodruff and it was that point that he rear-ended the Monte Carlo.
