David Archuleta, Nathan Pacheco to perform in BYU-Idaho Christmas Concert

REXBURG — David Archuleta and Nathan Pacheco will be the featured guest artists at this year’s annual Christmas concert on Saturday, December 3, at 7:30 p.m. in the BYU-Idaho Center in Rexburg.
“A BYU-Idaho Christmas” will feature the BYU-Idaho Symphony Orchestra, Collegiate Singers, Concert Choir, Vocal Union and dancers from the College of Performing and Visual Arts.
“This will definitely be the largest Christmas concert ever held at BYU-Idaho,” said Don Sparhawk, coordinator of the Center Stage Performing Arts Series. “More than 11,000 tickets have already been sold in the 15,000-seat venue.”
Sparhawk said the concert will feature a variety of Christmas music, ranging from holiday favorites to hymns and carols. Archuleta and Pacheco will also sing their duet of “The Prayer,” which has been very popular on YouTube.
Archuleta became a pop star when he was just 16. In 2008 more than 30 million television viewers fell in love with his angelic voice and their 44 million votes made him runner-up in Season 7 of “American Idol.”
He has a popular Christmas album entitled “Christmas from the Heart” and was featured in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir’s Christmas concert in 2010.
Pacheco is a classically trained tenor who has a passion for reaching out and uplifting people through music. “Introducing Nathan Pacheco” and “Christmas with Nathan Pacheco” began airing on PBS in 2012, and he was featured in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir Pioneer Day concert in 2013. He also was featured in the BYU-Idaho Christmas concert three years ago.
