Idaho State Police make marijuana bust worth $500,000

POCATELLO — Idaho State Police made a large drug bust Friday during a routine traffic stop.

The incident occurred at about 11:25 p.m.

According to a news release, Idaho State Police conducted a traffic stop on a 2016 Ford Explorer traveling northbound on Interstate 15 near mile marker 73, one mile north of Pocatello.

During the traffic stop, 125 pounds of marijuana were seized.

The driver and sole occupant of the Ford Explorer, Nathan Thao, a 37 year old male from Fresno California, was arrested and incarcerated at the Bannock County Jail for marijuana trafficking over 25 pounds.

The estimated street value of the marijuana is $500,000.
