Pocatello woman’s hair undergoes dramatic transformation on ‘Today’ show

POCATELLO — An Idaho woman got the glamour treatment earlier this month when she was featured on the “Today” show’s Ambush Makeover.

Prior to her makeover, Leslie Teuscher was sporting vibrant purple hair. She’s a natural redhead and she loved the deep purple color when she saw it, but her daughter told her she wasn’t 29 anymore. Teuscher quipped that she was a hip grandma and she could pull it off.

Although she was receiving compliments on her purple hair, she is planning to interview for a job that requires a professional look, so the plum-colored locks had to go.

Teuscher watches Ambush Makeover when she can, and she wanted to be the lucky makeover victim when she went on a recent girls trip to New York City.

As luck would have it, she was chosen to undergo the dramatic transformation. She said her experience getting the makeover was awesome.

“I’m just still climbing on cloud nine, can’t believe it really happened,” Teuscher said.

She wasn’t allowed to see her reflection at all during the makeover process, and she didn’t see the result until she was on TV.

“I wasn’t nervous at all because I watch the show and they always make people look beautiful, so I just kinda, yeah, let them run with it,” she said.

Michele Payton, Teuscher’s cousin, was on the girls’ trip with her and got to be on the “Today” show when Teuscher’s makeover was revealed.

Payton, who lives in North Ogden, said she never liked her cousin’s purple hair and thought her makeover was sensational. Teuscher said her makeover is going to be perfect for the job she’s hoping to get.
