POCATELLO — A southeast Idaho woman is in jail after allegedly threatening a store owner with a knife.

The incident occurred just before 1 p.m. Tuesday. Pocatello Police responded to the business after receiving a report from the store owner about the incident.

According to a Pocatello Police news release, Christina Mitchell, 36, entered the business and at one point a dispute ensued. Mitchell is said to have threatened the business owner with a knife when she was asked to leave the property.

At one point Mitchell brought the knife within approximately one inch of the owner, according to the release.

Mitchell did leave the property and was later found by officers at the intersection of Arthur and Greeley. Mitchell was still carrying the weapon.

Police say Mitchell refused to drop the knife at first, but later followed officers instructions to do so. Mitchell also allegedly fought and resisted officers while being taken into custody.

The business owner was not injured as a result of this incident.

Mitchell was booked into the Bannock County Detention Center on a felony aggravated battery charge and held on a $15,000 bond.
