POCATELLO — Authorities arrested 33-year-old William Karyim Hammond on Saturday night for allegedly discharging a 9 MM handgun twice at another motorist on Barton Road.

Pocatello Police Lt. Ian Nelson says Hammond was driving a vehicle at about 8:40 p.m. when for an unknown reason, he took out a gun and fired two rounds at another moving vehicle. Only one of the shots hit the vehicle.

No one was injured during the incident, and police say there was no relationship between Hammond and the victim.

The victim called police and Hammond was taken into custody shortly after without incident. He was arrested for discharging a firearm at a house or vehicle and placed in the Bannock County Jail.

This incident remains under investigation.
