The Idaho Falls Arts Council is pleased to announce the line-up of affordable summer art classes for youth aged 5-9. For only $3 for each class, children can make prints, lanterns, mixed media portraits and so much more. Classes are held upstairs in the Willard Arts Center at 450 A Street on Wednesdays from noon to 1 p.m.
Registration is now open and families may sign their children up for as many classes as they’d like. Registration is available by phone at 522-0471 or in person at 498 A Street or at www. idahofallsarts.org. Classes are taught by the enthusiastic art teacher Daniel Borup.
July 2 – Creatures – Create your own textured creature using Oil Pastels and Watercolors.
July 9 – Robots – Make a robot collage using a variety of mixed materials.
July 16 – Line Paintings – Use lines, geometric shapes and color mixing to create a Mondrian style painting.
July 23 – Paper Weaving – Draw patterns on strips of paper and then weave it together to create a vibrant and colorful mat.
July 30 – Abstract Nylon & Wire Sculpture – Construct a minimalist sculpture using nylons and wire.
In coordination with other arts organizations and enthusiasts, the mission of the Idaho Falls Arts Council is to educate our community and enrich the quality of life by promoting, advocating and presenting a broad spectrum of the visual and performing arts in eastern Idaho.
