Frank B Stanger, 59, of Iona, passed away on Monday, December 27, 2021, at Idaho Falls Community Hospital. He was under the care of Solace Hospice.

Frank was born on November 7, 1962, to Clive B and Eva Lucille Davis Stanger in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He grew up in Iona. He was known around the neighborhood for his kindness and his willingness to help others. He attended Iona Elementary, Bonneville Jr. High, and graduated from Bonneville High School in 1981. He went onto earn his Associate of Science in Automotive Technology. He was ASE certified and took several classes to keep up on the current technology.

On October 9, 1982, he married Leigh Ann Whitbeck. Together they had one son, James Michael Stanger. They were later divorced. On February 28, 1992, he married Bridgett Irene Chaffin in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple on April 17, 1993. Together they had four children: Courtney Irene, Cody John, Jason Frank, and Braiden Pete. He lived most of his life in Iona.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His favorite callings were those in the Primary or the Cub Scouts. He enjoyed the light in the children’s eyes when they learned something new.

Frank worked for BA Wackerli for several years as a mechanic. He started teaching automotive at Eastern Idaho Technical College. While teaching he became involved with Skills USA. He enjoyed the students and was able to organize a high school skills competition for automotive students in Eastern Idaho. After leaving the college he worked for Sunnyside Automotive. In August 2014, he was able to open Frank’s Truck and Auto in Iona.

He enjoyed the outdoors! He loved to go hunting every year with the gang. He took his boys fishing every opening day. Above everything Frank was happiest camping with his family and being around his boys.

He is survived by his wife, Bridgett Stanger of Iona, Idaho; his sons: James (Nicole) Stanger of Ellijay, Georgia, Cody Stanger of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Jason Stanger of Pocatello, Idaho, and Braiden Stanger of Iona, Idaho; his sisters: Cindy (Alvino, deceased) Quiroz and Linda (Evan, deceased) Rice both of Iona, Idaho; his brother, Kirk Stanger of Iona, Idaho; his mother-in-law, Jeannette Chaffin Grover.
