iStockphoto/Thinkstock(ATLANTA) -- Dodgers second baseman Dee Gordon scored four times as Los Angeles (70-53) took care of the Atlanta Braves (61-60) on Thursday, 6-4.

With L.A. leading 1-0 in the second inning, Dodgers catcher Drew Butera took the first pitch he saw from Braves starter Aaron Harang (9-7) and sent it over the left-field wall for a two-run home run. Harang allowed five earned runs on seven hits and three walks over 4 1-3 innings of work.

Robert Hernandez (7-8) kept the Braves in check across six innings, giving up just one earned run on three hits and four walks. Kenley Jansen picked up his 34th save of the season.

Braves outfielder Justin Upton left the game in the eighth with a mild left hamstring strain. The team says his status is day-to-day.

Mike McGinnis/Getty Images(ATLANTA) -- Even with a rain delay and extra innings, the Washington Nationals still found a way to win.

Wilson Ramos hit a three-run single in the top of the 11th inning to help the Nationals outlast the Atlanta Braves 4-1 on Saturday night.

The start of the game was delayed by 3 hours, 41 minutes, and the final out wasn't recorded until Sunday at 2:29 a.m.

Tyler Clippard (7-2) pitched a scoreless 10th inning for the victory, and Rafael Soriano closed the door on the Braves in the bottom of the 11th for his 26th save.

"Considering all that happened today, and the way we had to fight through the last couple of days, it was pretty good for us," Nationals manager Matt Williams said. "We fought all the way."

David Carpenter (4-2) took the loss for Atlanta.

The Braves have now lost nine of their past 10 games.

Dan Uggla Signs with Giants

Dan Uggla Signs with Giants

Tony Firriolo/MLB Photos via Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Just three days after being released by the Atlanta Braves, Dan Uggla signed a minor-league contract with the San Francisco Giants on Monday. The second baseman reported to Triple-A Fresno upon signing the deal.

"This is a chance for us to take a look at him and evaluate him, and a chance for him to go down and get his timing and get some playing time," said Giants manager Bruce Bochy. "At some point we're going to have to make a call. I can't say he's going to be up here in the next few days, no. He needs some playing time right now."

A three-time All-Star, Uggla was in his fourth season with Atlanta, but was hitting an abysmal .162 with just 10 RBI and two home runs in 48 games. The 34-year-old struck out 495 times in 451 games with the Braves from 2011-13 while also putting together a franchise record 33-game hitting streak.

Uggla underwent eye surgery last summer and was left off the Braves postseason roster before being reinserted in Spring Training.

Braves Pitcher Gavin Floyd Suffers Fractured Elbow

Braves Pitcher Gavin Floyd Suffers Fractured Elbow

Major League Baseball(NEW YORK) -- The Atlanta Braves are dealing with yet another pitching injury as starter Gavin Floyd will be placed on the disabled list after breaking a bone is his throwing elbow on Thursday night.

Floyd broke the olecranon -- the bony tip of the ulna that sticks out behind the elbow -- in the seventh inning on his first pitch to outfielder Jayson Werth.

This is a rare injury for a player, so the team isn't exactly sure when he'll be able to get back on the mound, but he's expected to make a full recovery.

The team had signed Floyd because of injuries to the team's starting rotation heading into the season. The Braves have already lost starers Kris Medlen and Brandon Beachy for the season as both required Tommy John Surgery.

Floyd was off to a great start with the Braves. In 9 starts, he went 2-2 with a 2.65 ERA. The 31-year-old is in his 11th Major League Season, and has a career 72-72 record.

Ortiz Held Out of Starting Lineup Due to Sore Right Calf

Ortiz Held Out of Starting Lineup Due to Sore Right Calf Scott Cunningham/Getty Images(BOSTON) -- Boston Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz was scratched from the team's starting lineup Thursday against the Atlanta Braves due to right calf soreness.                                                                           Ortiz did enter the game in the eighth inning as a pinch-hitter and was intentionally walked, but then was replaced by a pinch-runner.                                                                                             The 38-year-old Ortiz has been dealing with calf issues throughout the season and he missed last Saturday's game due to his calf.

"After two full days at first base (in Atlanta) and another at DH last night, it was best to hold him out tonight," Red Sox skipper John Farrell said. "This is precautionary, just want to not put him at risk any further."

Ortiz is hitting .270, with 12 home runs, 30 RBIs and a .372 on-base percentage this season.                             Follow @ABCNewsRadio Copyright 2014 ABC News Radio

Red Sox Beat Braves, Snap Skid

Red Sox Beat Braves, Snap Skid

Scott Cunningham/Getty Images(ATLANTA, Ga.) -- David Ortiz hadn't homered since May 14 and was hitting just .118 with no runs batted in in his last 10 games. Coincidentally, the Boston Red Sox had not won since May 14 and lost their previous 10 contests.

In the top of the sixth inning, trailing 6-3 at Atlanta, and with two runners on base, Ortiz launched a three-run homer to left center that tied the ballgame. He later drove in the go-ahead run on a sacrifice fly in the seventh as the Red Sox (21-29) defeated the Braves, 8-6, to snap their longest skid in two decades.

"It's been too long since we last shook hands following a win," said Boston manager John Farrell. The Red Sox were in danger of tying the record for most consecutive losses by a defending World Series champion. The 1998 Florida Marlins dropped 11 in a row twice during their 1997 title defense. Boston had not lost 10 straight since the 1994 season.

An optimistic start for the Red Sox saw Jackie Bradley, Jr. drive in Grady Sizemore for the games first run in the third. However, starting pitcher Clay Buchholz walked a career high eight batters and did not make it out of the fourth inning. The Braves (28-22) scored three runs in both the third and fourth innings to chase the righty.

"It seems to be snowballing on me right now," said Buchholz who allowed six runs on four hits before being lifted in the fourth without recording an out.

Boston rallied though, beginning with a two-run single by Dustin Pedroia in the sixth, which immediately preceeded Ortiz's game-tying blast off Atlanta's Ervin Santana. There was a near 90-minute rain delay before the inning was finally ended.

The Red Sox bats, and bullpen, finally came through when Ortiz lifted a fly ball to deep right field in the seventh that put Boston ahead, 7-6. A.J. Pierzynski then singled home another run while the bullpen held Atlanta off the boards for the final five innings.

Ian Thomas (1-2) was saddled with the loss after giving up the two runs in the seventh, while Edward Mujica (2-1) got the win for Boston. Koji Uehara earned his 10th save of the season, getting Andrelton Simmons to ground into a game-ending double play in the ninth.
