No. 5 TCU Races Past Texas

No. 5 TCU Races Past Texas iStockphoto(AUSTIN, Tx.) -- Trevone Boykin and the Horned Frogs carved up the Texas Longhorns on Thanksgiving Thursday 48-10. Boykin finished the day completing 20 of 34 passes for 233 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran for 50 yards and another touchdown. TCU's defense befuddled Longhorns quarterback Tyrone Swoopes all day as they intercepted the Texas signal caller four times. Defensive lineman Terrell Lathan also capitalized on a Swoopes fumble; scooping up the loose ball and running it back 40 yards for a touchdown. The Horned Frogs are 10-1 as they prepare to host their regular season finale against Iowa State.  TCU is currently No. 5 in the college football playoff selection poll.  While they continue to put up impressive scoring and defensive efforts they will likely have to hope Alabama, Oregon, Florida State or Mississippi State stumbles in one of their final games to make it to the final four. This has been a tough season Charlie Strong in his first year as head coach of the Longhorns. The team will finish 6-6 as he attempts to turn around a program that has fallen into mediocrity.  Follow @ABCNewsRadio Copyright 2014 ABC News Radio

No. 11 Kansas State Blanks Texas

No. 11 Kansas State Blanks Texas Ed Zurga/Getty Images(MANHATTAN, KS) -- The Kansas State Wildcats rolled over the Texas Longhorns with a 23-0 victory Saturday. The Wildcats remain undefeated in Big 12 play and pushed thier overall record to 6-1. Quarterback Jake Waters threw for 224 yards and trusty receiver Tyler Lockett caught eight passes for 103 yards. Kansas State scored both of their touchdowns on the ground on the legs of DeMarcus Robinson and Charles Jones. The Longhorns continue to adjust under the new regime of head coach Charlie Strong.  With a now 3-5 record, inconsistency continues to be the bane of Texas football. Quarterback Tyrone Swoopes was 13-25 for only 106 yards. This was the first time Texas had suffered a shut out since 2004 when they lost to Oaklahoma 12-0. Charlie Strong Continues to Clean House at Texas

Charlie Strong Continues to Clean House at Texas Brian Bahr/Getty Images(AUSTIN, Texas) -- University of Texas head coach Charlie Strong continued cleaning house Tuesday. Strong dismissed his ninth player of the season when he kicked junior offensive tackle Kennedy Estelle off the squad for violating team rules. Estelle has been suspended for the last three games after starting at left tackle in the team's season opener. This is not the first time Estelle has been suspended while at Texas. He wasn't allowed to play in the Alamo Bowl last season after being ruled academically ineligible. Estelle joins former starters Kendall Sanders and Joe Bergeron, as well as Leroy Scott, Chet Moss, Montrel Meander, Chevoski Collins, Deoundrei Davis and Jalen Overstreet, as players that have been dismissed from the team since March. Longhorns Dismiss Four More Football Players

Longhorns Dismiss Four More Football Players Brian Bahr/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- There's a new sheriff in Austin and Charlie Strong is making his presence known. The first year head coach has already kicked at least six players off his team since taking over the Longhorns, adding four more to the list on Friday. Safety Josh Turner, running back Jalen Overstreet, defensive back Chevoski Collins and senior running back Joe Bergeron have all been dismissed from the team according to multiple sources. Turner, Overstreet, and Collins were all dismissed for violating team rules while the reason for Bergeron's dismissal is not yet known. The University has not made mention of any suspensions or dismissals. A projected starter, Turner has played 37 games with five starts in his Longhorns career. Overstreet ran for 102 yards and a pair of touchdowns in 2013 as a freshman after switching to running back from the quarterback position. Collins was a redshirt player last season and listed as a backup safety while Bergeron had faced academic issues in the spring.  Fullback Chet Moss and defensive back Leroy Scott were also kicked off the team back in the spring for a violation of team rules. A source close to the Longhorns said has many as five more players could face disciplinary action for similar infractions. Strong has also suspended receivers Kendall Sanders and Montreal Meander after the two were arrested on sexual assault charges Thursday night. Follow @ABCNewsRadio Copyright 2014 ABC News Radio
