Canadiens’ P.K. Subban Fined for Diving Mark Serota/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Montreal Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban was fined $2,000 for diving/embellishment.The infraction happened in the Canadiens' game against the New York Rangers on Jan. 29. Subban was arguing with Rangers forward Chris Kreider when Kreider gave him a slight bump with the shaft of his stick, after which Subban immediately dropped to the ice. The play led to Subban receiving a two-minute minor for embellishment.The diving rule is new this season and was made to seriously penalize players who dive/embellish in an attempt to draw penalties.The 25-year-old Subban previously received a warning by the NHL after a play that occurred in the Canadiens' game against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Jan. 6.Subban becomes the fifth player this season to be fined under the new rule.
