LeBron Leads Cleveland to Sixth Straight Win

LeBron Leads Cleveland to Sixth Straight Win

Mike Ehrmann/Getty Images(TORONTO) -- LeBron James had 24 points and a season-high 13 assists as the Cleveland Cavaliers dominated Eastern Conference-leading Toronto 105-91 on Friday. It was the sixth straight win for the Cavaliers (11-7), who avenged an earlier home loss to the Raptors (15-5).

"I feel really good with where I am but I feel even greater as far as where our team is right now," said James.

The Cavaliers held Toronto to 40.7 percent shooting (35-of-86) while picking up seven steals in the win. Cleveland also out-rebounded the Raptors 48 to 40 as Kevin Love controlled the glass with a game-high 13 boards. The Cavs led 30-21 despite 12 points from Amir Johnson, who finished with a game-high 27 points for Toronto.

Cleveland eventually held a 51-44 advantage at the break but the Raptors took their first lead on Kyle Lowrie's three-pointer with 7:14 to play in the third, a 58-57 edge. The Cavaliers quickly regained control, going on a 16-2 run and never looked back. It was the third loss in five games for Toronto.

Raptors Guad DeMar DeRozan Out Indefinitely with a Torn Adductor Longus

Raptors Guad DeMar DeRozan Out Indefinitely with a Torn Adductor Longus

Ronald Matinez/Getty Images(TORONTO) -- The Eastern Conference's best team will be without one of their best players for the foreseeable future as guard DeMar DeRozan will be out indefinitely with a torn tendon in his left groin.

At 13-3, the Raptors hold the best record in the Eastern Conference, with DeRozan being the team's leading scorer.

Now in his sixth NBA season, all with the Raptors, the 25-year-old DeRozan is averaging 19.4 points on the season.

While there is no exact timetable for his return, according to Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders, the injury could keep him out of action up to 12 weeks if it is determined he needs surgery.

DeRozan has missed just 11 games over five seasons before this injury, so now the Raptors must spread their offense around even more than they already do with Kyle Lowry, Terrence Ross, and Jonas Valanciunas.

Louis Williams Drops 36 in Beat-down of Cavaliers

Louis Williams Drops 36 in Beat-down of Cavaliers

Ronald Martinez/Getty Images(CLEVELAND,Oh.) -- The Toronto Raptors smacked down the Cleveland Cavaliers as Louis Williams came in off the bench and paced the Raptors to a 110-93 victory, Saturday.

Williams put up 36 points, completing 9 of 19 from the field including three from beyond the arc.

"The thing was that [my teammates] saw that I had a hot hand and they kept coming to me," Williams said. "Just created a spark off the bench."

No shot had as much impact as the three he drained at the first half buzzer that gave Toronto a 56-54 lead.

From there it was all downhill for the Cavaliers according to LeBron James.

"[Williams] changed the game, when he came into the game," James said. "We lost the tempo that we had."

The Cavaliers began the season as the favorites to win it all. Hyped up as the new Big 3; which includes, James, Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving, the Cavaliers currently sit at 5-7.

"We're a very fragile team right now, we were a fragile team from the beginning," James said. "Any little adversity hits us, we just shell up."

Report: Jazz Aquire Steve Novak from the Raptors

Report: Jazz Aquire Steve Novak from the Raptors

NBA via New York Knicks(NEW YORK) -- The Utah Jazz are looking for shooting help and they've found it as they've acquired veteran forward Steve Novak from the Toronto Raptors.

With the Raptors recently extending point guard Kyle Lowry, the team was looking to unload salary, as Novak is set to make $7.2 million over the next two years. The Jazz will send back a future second-round pick.

The 31-year old Novak is an eight-year veteran who can help stretch the floor for the Jazz as they already have a good nucleus of front-court players like Enes Kanter, Derrick Favors, and Jeremy Evans.

After finding consistent playing time with the New York Knicks, Novak quickly fell out of favor in Toronto, as he averaged just 10.0 minutes per game and averaged 3.3 points per game.

Despite the limited playing time, Novak still remains a deadly shooter from the 3-point line. In 54 games for the Raptors last season, Novak shot .426% from 3.

ESPN: Raptors, Hawks Agree to Swap John Salmons and Lou Williams

ESPN: Raptors, Hawks Agree to Swap John Salmons and Lou Williams

Ronald Martinez/Getty Images(NBA) -- With NBA free agency less than 24 hours away, ESPN is reporting that the Toronto Raptors and Atlanta Hawks have agreed to a trade that would send John Salmons to the Hawks and Lou Williams to the Raptors.

ESPN.com is reporting that the Hawks will waive Salmons and pay him only $1 million as opposed to paying him $7 million this upcoming season.

The Hawks are clearing up cap space so they can be more aggressive in free agency as well as ensure future flexibility with the cap.

The Hawks are projected to now have $15.5 million in cap space, enough to make a move this offseason to upgrade the roster.

The 34-year-old Salmons has played 12 NBA seasons, and spent just one season with the Raptors where he averaged 5.0 points in 60 games this past season.

Meanwhile Williams, 27, is a nine-year NBA veteran who specializes in being the main scoring option off the bench. This past season he averaged 10.4 points per game.

Williams and Salmons were teammates together on the Philadelphia 76ers during the 2005-2006 season.
