Lawmakers Debate Wind Energy

  Published at

(BOISE) – Idaho House leaders are wading into the debate over wind energy by asking the state utilities regulator for a permanent size cap on projects that can demand state-mandated electricity prices from utilities. Lawmakers want to cap wind as well as solar projects that qualify to 100 kilowatts, lower than the 10 megawatt limit before last January. Idaho Power officials say a proliferation of wind projects would drive up power rates.
