Massive Landslide Blocks Hwy South of Jackson

(JACKSON, Wyo.) – A massive landslide has blocked a section of Highway 26 south of Jackson. Experts estimate the slide to be at least 300 feet wide and growing. Highway officials believe the mass wasting is being caused by heavy ground saturation. The highway will remain closed until the slide stops moving, which could take several days. In the mean time traffic to Jackson is being detoured through Teton Pass.
