Anti-Luna Activists: “We Sent a Message”
Published atThe campaign to recall state superintendent Tom Luna has failed, with reports indicating the movement only gathered one-third of the signatures necessary to hold a recall election. Helen Avila, who spearheaded efforts in Bannock County told Local News 8 that the numbers were nearly twice what official reports indicated. She says the campaign “sent a message” that some people are fed up with Luna. She said she’s not opposed to starting up another recall. Luna responded to the failure by saying his education reforms will give students more opportunities to succeed in their future careers.
