A 16 Year Old Girl Dies In Jackson After A Tree Falls On Her

(Jackson, WY) – Elisabeth Burns (age 16) from Lake Forest, Ill was on a backpacking excursion with a youth group called ‘Wilderness Ventures” in the Turpine Meadows area of Jackson, WY.
The group was trying to hang their bag of food on a tree to keep it away from bears when the 75ft tree that they were trying to hang it on uprooted and fell on Elisabeth, killing her instantly. An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
