Train Kills Pedestrian in Caribou County

(AP) – A Soda Springs man is dead after being struck by a train near Bancroft Thursday night. 51-year-old Matthew Gaither was pronounced dead at the scene. Witnesses say a Union Pacific train was approaching the Ivins Road crossing when the man stepped onto the tracks and was struck. An investigation is ongoing.
