Mormon Bishop Charged with Failing to Report Abuse

(SALT LAKE CITY) – A Mormon Bishop in Utah faces criminal charges for failing to report an allegation of child abuse. Gordon L. Moon could spend up to five years in prison. Utah law requires clergy to notify police if they learn of abuse unless the information comes by way of confession by the offender. Moon is set to appear in court Sept. 1.
