Cougars Shake Up Jefferson County Neighborhood

(LEWISVILLE) – Some folks in Jefferson County are getting stirred up by a string of recent Mountain Lion sightings. Resident Kelley Chaffee tells Local News 8 that she lost some of her birds to the cats last week, including two peacocks. She says that about six weeks ago two horses were attacked by the cougars on two separate occasions. The horses owner says the animals are recovering well. Fish and Game officials say it’s normal to see cougars in the area, and tell residents to keep an eye on their pets.
