Weston Man Dies in Skydiving Accident

(MESQUITE, Nev.) – A southeast Idaho man is dead following a skydiving accident near Mesquite, Nev. 60-year-old skydiving instructor James Fonnesbeck of Weston died Sunday when his parachute failed to deploy. His jump-partner, 75-year-old Claudette Porter later died from her injuries. Fonnesbeck was also a celebrity of sorts for the small town of Weston. He was featured as a skydiving Elvis impersonator in the 1992 film “Honeymoon in Vegas.” Fonnesbeck had completed over 11,000 jumps during his career.
