Plane Flips in Runway in Fremont County

(ASHTON) – A Ririe man is safe after crashing his plane near Ashton Sunday. Russell Schwendiman was attempting to land his fixed-wing plane on a private airstrip north of Ashton Reservoir. Because of the snow and ice on the runway, the pilot lost control of the plane, causing it to flip over on its top. Schwendiman was able to walk away unharmed.
