Afghanistan: Suicide Bomb Attack Targets Funeral Gathering

ABC News(KABUL, Afghanistan) — A local member of parliament is among the at least 19 people reported killed in a suicide bomb attack on a funeral gathering in the northern Afghan province of Takhar.

An additional 40 people were reported injured when the suicide attacker detonated his vest among the crowd, which was gathered for the funeral of a tribal leader, local officials told ABC News.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack, the BBC reported.
