Celtics Forward Jeff Green to Have Heart Surgery
Published at(NEW YORK)– Boston Celtics forward Jeff Green will miss the entire 2011-2012 NBA Season, due to the finding of an aortic aneurysm while undergoing a routine physical.
After then consulting with multiple cardiac specialists, it was decided Green would undergo heart surgery, and sit out the entire season.
“While we are saddened that Jeff will not be able to play this season, the most important thing is his health, and we were fortunate to have access to an amazing team of specialists to evaluate Jeff’s case,” Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge said. “The entire Celtics family supports Jeff during this difficult time in his career.”
The 25-year old Green, was traded to the Celtics in the middle of last season. While in Boston, he averaged 9.8 points and 3.3 rebounds a game.
