Drew Brees Closing In on Passing Yards Record

Grant Halverson/Getty Images(MINNEAPOLIS) — Drew Brees threw for 412 yards in the New Orleans Saints’ 41-20 victory over the Minnesota Vikings.

That puts him 304 yards away from tying the record Dan Marino set in 1984.

“I’m aware that we’re close,” Brees said of Marino’s record. “I just know if we keep doing what we’re doing, all of that stuff will take care of itself.”

Brees will have two games to break the record. He is the first player in NFL history to record seven straight 350 passing yards in a game.
