Miley Cyrus Defends Herself After Swearing at Fan
Published at(LOS ANGELES) — Miley Cyrus had some explaining to do after being caught on tape swearing at a fan who insulted her.
The singer was on vacation in Costa Rica with her boyfriend Liam Hemsworth when she stopped to sign autographs and take photos with fans before boarding a helicopter.
After singning for a bit, Cyrus announced to a fan, “I gotta go, honey.” A woman in the crowd screamed “a******” as she started to walk away.
Cyrus responded, “What the f***? Are you for real?” She then said, “We’re on vacation. I’m not being an a****** .”
The whole incident was captured on a camera phone and it aired on a local news channel.
Cyrus took to her Twitter account to explain what happened. She wrote, “Been trying not to tweet & just enjoy the holidays but just to clear something up I would NEVER swear to a fan. When someone yells something SO rude making ME look like an ‘a******’ infront of fans who I am more than happy 2 take a picture w/ I can’t tolerate that kind of rudeness.”
She later tweeted, “Every1 who was there apologized 4 the woman’s brusque behavior. She obviously wasn’t a fan. Hope everyone1 has a Merry Christmas! LOVE 2 ALL!”
