(IDAHO FALLS) – The Office of Nuclear Energy is getting much more money than expected for the 2012 fiscal year. Energy officials tell KIDK that $800 million will go to the agency that funds the Idaho National Laboratory, though the amount coming to Idaho is still up in the air. At least $382 million will go toward the Idaho Cleanup Project, funded by the Office of Environmental Management. DOE officials say research on a new generation of nuclear reactors will likely continue at the INL.
