(POCATELLO) – Pocatello police say they’re seeing an increase in prescription drug abuse. Local News 8 reports that people are leaving Pocatello and heading to bigger towns to obtain larger quantities of prescription drugs. Officers are being trained to detect people transporting pills when they do traffic stops since K-9 units aren’t normally trained for pills. Authorities recommend  taking your unused or expired medications to a drug depository, which is usually available at your local police station.
