FX announced Sunday that his adaptation of the Adam Sandler-Jack Nicholson comedy “Anger Management” will premiere sometime in June. He’ll fill the Nicholson role of an anger management counselor.

The series will mark Sheen’s return to television following his firing from the CBS sitcom “Two and a Half Men” last year following his erratic behavior. In explaining why FX took a flyer on Sheen, FX President John Landgraf told critics at the winter press tour in Pasadena, Calif., on Sunday, “I believe in redemption.”

Also over the weekend, AMC confirmed the return date of its Emmy-winning drama “Mad Men.” The fifth season of “Mad Men” will begin Sunday, March 25. Jon Hamm, who plays womanizing ad exec Don Draper on the show, recently leaked the release date on a podcast hosted by comedian Doug Benson.

AMC’s “The Killing” will open its second season on Sunday, April 1. The cable network also revealed that the third season of “The Walking Dead” will be its longest yet: 16 episodes. The show’s second season, which resumes February 12, will consist of 13 episodes.
