Danica Patrick Preparing for Full NASCAR Season

Jared C. Tilton/Getty Images for NASCAR(DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.) — The green flag drops on the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup season on Sunday, February 26th with the running of the Daytona 500.
Danica Patrick will be making the full-time transition this year from the world of open wheel to stock car racing. She will be running a full schedule on the Nationwide circuit for JR Motorsports, while running a limited number of races on the Sprint Cup circuit for Stewart-Haas Racing.
“It’s going to be really exciting,” Patrick said of kicking off her season at Daytona. “Obviously it’s the biggest race of the year. I’d really like to run well, and I don’t just want to be here, I want to run well.”
Patrick spent seven seasons on the IndyCar circuit. In 115 career starts, she has one victory, 20 top fives and 63 top-ten finishes.
