Earlier in the week, former New Orleans Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams joined the team under the same title, and now it appears they have found the man to run their offense. According to ESPN.com, the Rams are set to hire Brian Shcottenheimer as the team’s new offensive coordinator.

Schottenheimer was the offensive coordinator for the New York Jets since 2006 before he and the organization decided to part ways following this past season. Schottenheimer had initial success in New York, but this past season the Jets offense plummeted all the way to 29th in total offense.

Even though the Jets offense struggled during last season, the same can be said for the Rams. Out of 32 NFL teams, the Rams ranked 30th in passing yards and 23rd rushing yards per game. Last season, the Rams went 2-14, and are just 10-38 over the past three seasons.
