Rangers Beat Flyers in 5th Annual Winter Classic

Photo by Rob Carr/Getty Images(PHILADELPHIA) — The New York Rangers (24-9-4) rallied back from a two goal deficit to beat the Philadelphia Flyers (22-11-4) 3-2, in Monday’s fifth annual NHL Winter Classic.
Rangers Goalie Henrik Lundqvist had 34 saves. His best save came with just under 20 seconds left in the game, when he stopped Daniel Briere’s penalty shot, preserving the the victory.
“I was just trying to be patient and do my thing,” Lundqvist said. “He’s a sneaky guy, and there was a lot of pressure on me.”
With the Rangers victory, the road team is now 4-0-1 in Winter Classics.
