Blue Jays Finalize Deal With Cordero
Published at(TORONTO) — The Toronto Blue Jays have finalized a one-year contract with reliever Francisco Cordero worth $4.5 million.
This will be Cordero’s fifth team, following the Tigers, Rangers, Brewers and Reds. Pitching for Cincinnati last season, the 36-year-old righthander went 5-2, with a 2.45 ERA and 37 saves in 43 chances. He is ranked 12th on the all-time saves list with 327.
The three-time All-Star will replace Frank Francisco, who signed a two-year deal with the New York Mets for $12 million.
