Cavaliers Center Varejao Out With Broken Wrist
Published at(CLEVELAND) — The Cleveland Cavaliers will be without center Anderson Varejao for the foreseeable future, after the eight-year NBA veteran broke his right wrist during the third quarter of Friday night’s overtime loss to the Milwaukee Bucks.
An MRI performed on Saturday revealed Varejao has a non-displaced fracture of the wrist. Cavaliers head coach Byron Scott says the 29-year-old will be revaluated again Sunday.
Varejao was off to a strong start this season, averaging 10.8 points and 11.5 rebounds.
To fill the void in the middle, the Cavaliers say they will use a combination of Semih Erden, Ryan Hollins and Samardo Samuels.
