Coal-To-Gas Plant In Talks With INL

(CHEYENNE, Wyo.) – A Texas company aiming to build a plant to convert coal into gasoline is in ongoing discussions with the Idaho National Laboratory. According to reports released Monday, DKRW Advanced Fuels wants to start a $2 billion project in Carbon County, Wyoming. The INL will review the project over the next month. Company officials have asked the state of Wyoming to purchase up to $300 million in industrial development bonds to fund the project. They say the final decision for funding may be up to Gov. Matt Mead, rather than state legislators.
