(TOKYO) — A teenage boy was arrested Sunday in the Japanese city of Ichinomiya after he allegedly stabbed his mother when she tried to confiscate a video game he bought without her consent.
The Mainichi Daily News reports the 14-year-old admitted to the crime, telling investigators “[W]hen I bought a video game without permission, my mother took it off me, so I got angry (and stabbed her).”
Police say the teen stabbed his 50-year-old mother in the back, piercing her left lung and leaving her seriously injured.
