(POCATELLO) – The administration at Idaho State University is responding to a federal lawsuit filed by several faculty members.  The ISU Faculty Association for the Preservation of the First Amendment maintains that President Arthur Vailas and other administrators have abridged their rights to free speech.  Attorneys representing the administration claim the entire lawsuit should be dismissed on grounds that the filers are not part of the Provisional Faculty Senate, and that the free speech rights of private citizens do not apply in the same way to faculty members.
