Mule Deer Benefit From Mild Winter
Published at(POCATELLO) – This year’s mild winter is helping local mule deer make a comeback. Fish and Game officials tell KPVI that last year’s cool weather and heavy snows devastated mule deer populations around eastern Idaho. Warmer weather has left hillsides and valleys exposed, with more vegetation available for hungry critters. But the deer aren’t out of the red quite yet. Officials say plenty of spring rainfall is crucial for mule deer to thrive through the summer months.
