Report: Vikings Reach Preliminary Agreement on New Stadium

NFL?  SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1329638996658National Football League(NEW YORK) —  A Preliminary agreement has been reached between the Minnesota Vikings, Minneapolis and the state of Minnesota to build a new stadium in downtown Minneapolis, according to a report in the Minneapolis Tribune.

Under this deal, the city of Minneapolis would spend $150 million in construction costs, the state would give $398 million and the Vikings would pay $427 million. The city would also spend $180 million in operating costs over the next 30 years.

The sources of this report are said to be key players in the the negotiations, who only spoke under the stipulation of remaining anonymous.

The Vikings have been looking to replace their stadium for close to a decade.
