Senate Panel Passes Texting-While-Driving Ban

(BOISE) – Idaho’s Senate Transportation Committee has given the green light to a bill that would ban texting while driving. Previous efforts to ban texting behind the wheel have been met with stiff opposition, but organizers say they’re better prepared to debate the bill this time around. Democratic Sen. Elliot Werk of Boise says his bill sends a strong message to kids about appropriate driving behavior, which has been back by lawmakers on both sides of the aisle. The bill is now on its way to a full chamber vote.
