DAVEY/AFP/Getty Images(ALLEN, Texas) — Even though he didn’t play for anyone during the 2011 season, former NFL All-Pro wide receiver Terrell Owens still wants to play in the NFL. Whether anyone wants him, however, is a whole different subject.

The 38-year old Owens recently signed with the Allen Wranglers of the Indoor Football League. Owens will have 50 percent ownership group of the team, and can earn as much as $500,000 with the Wranglers. Despite his new IFL fame, Owens still thinks he can play at a high level in the NFL.

“It was an opportunity for myself and my family,” Owens said. “It’s a way for myself to keep in shape. I haven’t retired from the NFL. I want to play a couple more years. This right here will allow me to do that and assess where I am. I know I’m physically fit to play the game still.”

After suffering a knee injury in the off-season, Owens worked his way back to make a return to the NFL, but never garnered the interest he thought he would get.
