The (1) Orange (34-2) can thank C.J. Fair for their 64-63 win over (4) Wisconsin (26-10) who provided 15 points.  The always reliable Scoop Jardine also put in a 14 point effort and rounding out the top three in scoring was Dion Waiters with 13.

“This is one of the best games I’ve been involved with in a long time,” said Syracuse head coach Jim Boeheim.  “The best game anybody’s ever played against us and didn’t beat us, they made 14 three’s and usually that’s enough.   Really proud of our players, every time they came back and went ahead, they had an answer for it.”

Wisconsin did have a chance to win in the last second, but Jordan Taylor’s three-pointer rimmed out and Josh Gasser’s toss was no good on the rebound.

“Tried to get an open shot and try and make them rotate in that zone, we did a little bit but they did a good job of recovering to open guys there, they used the length that they had and kind of forced us into a tough shot” said Taylor of the last shot.  “Obviously it didn’t go down so it’s just tough.”

Syracuse will take on (2) Ohio State (30-7) on Saturday night.
