Baylor Head Coach Kim Mulkey Reveals She Has Bell’s Palsy

Sarah Glenn/Getty Images(WACO, Texas) — Baylor women’s head basketball coach Kim Mulkey has been diagnosed with Bell’s palsy, university officials announced Thursday.
“I noticed while we were in Des Moines last week that my tongue felt strange,” Mulkey said. “Yesterday I noticed when I smiled, only the left side of my mouth was working. Also my right eye was dropping and I couldn’t hear properly out of my right ear. Our trainer, Alex Olson, examined me before practice and it was decided I needed immediate medical care.”
Baylor will take on Stanford this Sunday in the Women’s Final Four. No word yet if Mulkey’s condition will prevent her from coaching the team.
