Fatal Accident in Jefferson County Sunday

(RIGBY, ID) A 23-year old man was killed early Sunday morning in Rigby. According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Brian Rumsey was driving his Jeep Grand Cherokee along 41-hundred East near 132 North, when it apparently veered into oncoming traffic. He overcorrected and spun into a power pole according to investigators on the scene. Rumsey had been partially ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead on the scene. A passenger, 21-year old Jamie Rumsey was thrown from the vehicle and treated for minor injuries. The invesitgation continues, but investigators have ruled out the weather as a cause.
