(BOISE) – Idaho’s wildlife managers are increasing bag limits and expanding trapping opportunities for this year’s wolf hunt. Fish and Game officials have also extended this fall’s hunting season in an attempt to bring down the state’s wolf population. Officials say wolf packs are negatively impacting the state’s big game herds, specifically elk herds in the northern back country.  They estimate that there are between 500 and 600 wolves currently roaming the state, down from over 1,000 when the 2011 season opened last fall.
